WHAT PEOPLE NEED TODAY But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:19) I. Salvation For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ; for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth... Romans 1:16 A. Some people think they are too sinful to be saved. B. Salvation is for every one that believeth - the good and bad, the rich and poor, the great and small. C. We must come to God in simple, trusting faith, repent of our sins, and accept Christ as Savior and Lord. II. Strength I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me. Philippians 4:13 A. Physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual strength are required if we are to get through this life successfully. B. Many people try to do everything by their own power. They usually fail. C. God promises, "I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee..." Isaiah 41:10 III. Stamia "...but he that endureth to the end shall be saved" Matthew 10:22 A. Stamina is "resistance to fatigue, illness, hardship; endurance" B. Some people give up too easily. When the going gets rough, they throw up their hands in despair. C. When it comes to serving God, we must never surrender to the enemy. We must endure hardships like good soldiers of Christ. 2Timothy 2:3 IV. Serenity "... my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you..." John 14:27 A. Today's world offers little serenity. Only the peace that God gives will suffice. B. Jesus promises peace to his disciples. He said, "Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid." John 14:27 C. What people need today is available in Christ: salvation, strength, stamina, and serenity! |
